Day 9- Greatest Milestone

By far, the biggest milestone in Eve's life has been the changes in her since her lobectomy 17months ago.

Eve went from being a tiny, pale, sickly, underweight child

to a gorgeous, bubbly, tall, chubby, full of life child!

Eve needed a lobectomy because 2/3 of her right lung was dead and was using up every calorie Eve consumed in order to work and let her be able to breathe. So basically for over a year her lung was taking the calories she consumed, so she was not gaining weight. She was actually losing weight because sometimes her lung burned more calories than she consumed.

Since those 2 dead lobes were removed, Eve's body has been able to store the calories she consumes because her lung is not using them to breathe anymore, so she is gaining weight steadily for the first time in her life.

These are some photo's of the "old Eve"...if im honest, I try to block these images out all the time. They are just too sad for me to look at....

I don't even recognise this child....

This photo was taken during the summer of '09 when Eve was just 28lbs at 3 1/2 years old.

Exactly 1 year later this photo was taken of Eve in the same pink shirt as above, weighing 43lbs at 4 1/2 years old. You can see the huge difference in her weight...

This is my new and improved beautiful girl just 12months after her surgery! Look at those cheeks :)

The difference between these photo's is overwhelming...

17months ago Eve was a teeny tiny 33lbs, 96cm little girl...today she is a whopping 47lbs 112cm big girl!!!

That, to date, is Eve's greatest milestone!!!
