Finally...
Eve and I were able to enjoy a day in Dublin that didnt end with being poked by needles and prodded by doctors!!!
We were joined by my friend, the lovely Marie Claire, and spent the day wandering round the shops and eating lunch!
First stop was Santa!!! And Eve LOVED him!!
For the past 4 years she has been terrified of him, but today she chatted away like he was an old friend!
After that we made our way over to the hospital for Eve's art exhibition.
I never realised how "famous" Eve was in the hospital until today!
We couldnt walk 2 steps without being stopped by a member of staff! The dinner ladies, nurses, doctors, fundraisers, cleaners, play specialists, secretaries...EVERYONE was stopping us to say hi to Eve!
And of course my little show off was loving every minute of it!
She kept saying to everyone "see you all on January 18th!!" (when she is being admitted for her port surgery and 10 day stay)
It's sad to think she is so recognised in the hospital because she spends so much time in there, but at the same time it's nice to know how loved she is!
And how much she loves the hospital, despite all the horrible things that have happened to her there....
The Art Exhibition was great! Eve loved seeing her painting hanging up on the wall for everyone to see and she was so proud when she was presented with her certificate!
In all we had a great day and can't wait to do it all again next week when we go rooftop ice skating :)
So great to read this Claire! You both DESERVE a day out to play! I can't believe Eve handles her future hospital admittance so well, you've done a great job with her! Keep it up :)
